George Washington appears on today’s $1 bills… but now, you can own the very first $1 bill design featuring his portrait! The 1917 $1 Legal Tender Note has his portrait in the center and the distinctive red seal on the left. It was printed in the large size that is much bigger than today’s currency. Most of these notes were worn out in circulation or were destroyed by the U.S. Government long ago. This is one of the few remaining 1917 $1 Legal Tender.
