In late 2006, the U.S. Mint released a stunning commemorative Silver Dollar honoring the San Francisco Old Mint. The coin was issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake that destroyed San Francisco … but which left the imposing granite U.S. Mint building still standing. One side of the coin shows the Old Mint, while the other depicts the reverse of the legendary Morgan Silver Dollar design from 1878-1921. Of special importance to collectors, the coin is struck at the San Francisco Mint and bears the famous “S” mint mark. Only a limited number of coins were made, so order now!
